Cruise Liner Shore Tours
Scotland has seen a huge increase in the amount of Cruise Liners that have visited over the last few years. Summer 2005 and 2006 were a busy time for me, picking up passengers for day tours from all the major cruise liners that arrived at Greenock and South Queensferry. Cruise liners such as the Jewel of the Sea's, Sea Princess, Star Princess and the Golden Princess now regularly visit Scottish waters during the summer months.

All my private tours from cruise liners are very flexible and I can devise an itinerary based on your requirements or you can choose from a selection of tours that I feel maximise the time you have in port. I pride myself in not visiting the tourist traps that the bus tours go to and prefer to show the quiet, country roads when possible. For lunch I can recommend some cracking wee historic Scottish Inns or Taverns that DON'T cater for bus parties (no room!)

These private tours can be for 1 to 8 persons - I can also cater for up to 15 persons in a Mini Bus if required. I will meet and greet you at the security point at the cruise terminals and get you back to ship in plenty of time - even stopping for supplies at the local shops for you if you require (much better value Single Malt Whisky and fine wines available!) But please contact me as early as possible as these tours are very popular.

Shore Tours from Greenock Terminal
Born and bred in Greenock, I'm the only local tour guide who can really show you around this often overlooked historic port (I have family members who actually work at the port and will help bring your ship in), as well as exploring further afield. It is a wee bit ironic that cruise ships visit Greenock, as the port was the main Scottish departure point for the ships that took immigrants to the USA and Canada, and now many of the relatives of those immigrants are coming back to very place their ancestors departed from, albeit in a more comfortable way! Most passengers are pleasantly surprised by the stunning views and historic buildings of Greenock I can show you on a personal tour. Time permitting, I always try to show the highlights of the town and some of the best views in Scotland before getting back to the ship. The delightful town of Gourock is always worth a visit as is the medieval Newark Castle in nearby Port Glasgow. This can be easily managed with a tour of Loch Lomond, Inveraray, Stirling, Glasgow, Edinburgh or perhaps have a taste of the Highlands with a wee dram and a visit to a whisky distillery.

Shore Tours from Queensferry Terminal
Cruise Liners usually berth in the Firth of Forth at South Queensferry, near the famous Forth Rail Bridge and Forth Road Bridge, before using small tenders to bring passengers to shore. Edinburgh is only a short distance away and you could easily spend the day there. I can combine some tours with a comprehensive half day tour of Edinburgh or perhaps go further afield to the home of golf, St Andrews, and the Kingdom of Fife.
